Spring-Over Lift
When
performing a Springover at Custom Cruisers FJ40,
we retain the stock springs if they are in good shape. We
build our own hangers for the front springs. The shackles
on the front springs are reversed to help with on road
handling and ride. We can also cut and rotate the
knuckles for better pinion clearance and to ease drive
line angle when rock crawling, or we can install our drive
line adapters. Our drive line adapters allow a modified
Toyota Truck drive line to be installed. For the Drive Line,
we use the Toyota Truck Drive line yokes, since they
have a longer slip joint to handle the extra travel and the
extra drive line angle you get when installing a spring
over. The Toyota Truck Drive line uses the same U joint
size as the LC. We also install our High Steer Arms, Heavy
Duty Tie Rods & Connecting Rods, new tie rod ends,
Pitman arm, new U- Bolts and heavy duty shackles in the
rear. We also install Longer Brake lines from the frame to
the axle housing both front and rear. In the rear we
install an anti-wrap setup if needed to remedy spring wrap
which is a common problem on Spring Over Land Cruisers.
Other things to consider when doing a springover are
Front Disc Brakes / Power Steering /Front Locker /
Rebuilding Knuckles / And cleaning and replacing wheel
bearings.
